At Home Dialysis
We offer education, training and support to people who wish to do their dialysis at home. Training typically takes 6 weeks for most people.
All you need is a willingness to learn and a home that can safely support the treatment - we provide the rest! All of the equipment and most renovations needed for water and electrical systems for dialysis are funded by our program.
Home Hemodialysis
There are three types of Home Hemodialysis:
- Short Daily (5 to 6 times a week)
- Nocturnal (5 to 6 nights a week while you sleep)
Home Hemodialysis training is offered at our Whitby site.

Home Peritoneal Dialysis
Peritoneal Dialysis is a type of dialysis in which blood is cleaned and filtered through the abdominal lining inside your body. This is done at home with training and support from our nursing staff.
People work with our team at their own pace and within in a few days are usually able to begin treatment at home using Peritoneal Dialysis.
All you need is a willingness to learn and a home that will safely support the treatment- we provide the rest!
