Lakeridge Health Education and Research Network (LHEARN) Centre
Welcome to the Lakeridge Health Education and Research Network (LHEARN) Centre, our hub for advanced clinical training, education and research. Every year, we welcome thousands of learners across a broad range of health disciplines as they pursue their studies and professional development under the guidance of our expert instructors.
Health care providers in our hospital and throughout the region can stay up-to-date with the latest advances in clinical care throughout LHEARN's continuing education opportunities, including high-fidelity simulation. Our training, education and research efforts are focused on improving care for patients, their families and our community, making LHEARN a central component of how we support Lakeridge’s vision of “One System. Best Health.”
LHEARN is a home-away-from-home to the Queen’s University School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine, where Residents benefit from hospital-based experience during their work with Family Medicine preceptors.
The LHEARN is also home to the Queen’s Bowmanville Oshawa Lakeridge Family Medicine Residency program and our innovative, first-of-its-kind in Canada medical school program – a collaboration with Queen’s University – called the Queen’s-Lakeridge Health MD Family Medicine Program.
