Welcoming Indigenous Cultural Practices
At Lakeridge Health, we are committed to offering an inclusive and supportive environment for all patients, clients, residents, essential partners-in-care, and team members. This includes honouring and respecting Indigenous cultural practices within our facilities. These practices are integral to creating safe space and well-being for Indigenous peoples.
Our staff are committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and safe care. They have the training needed to support Indigenous peoples with their cultural ceremonies.
Safe Spaces for Indigenous Ceremonies
We provide safe spaces for the traditional use of medicines in various practices, including prayer offerings and ceremonies. These ceremonies can take place in Spiritual Care rooms or in the patient, client, or residents’ room.
