Kevin Empey named to Ontario Hospital Association Board of Directors

Durham Region - - The Ontario Hospital Association has named Kevin Empey, President and CEO of Lakeridge Health to its Board of Directors for a 2-year term.

 “I am honoured to be on this Board and thrilled that Lakeridge Health is being recognized in this way,” says Empey.

The Ontario Hospital Association represents more than 150 hospitals across the province. It offers high-quality products and services to hospital and non-hospital members, champions innovation and performance improvement, and advances and influences health system policy in Ontario.

Empey, a former chair of the Health Services Funding Reform Advisory Committee says he is particularly looking forward to continue his involvement in the evolution of health system funding reform, through the OHA.

“It’s a challenging but exciting time for health care and system reform,” says Empey. “The Ontario Hospital Association is uniquely positioned to develop ideas and work with partner Associations and the government of Ontario to help advance healthcare for all Ontarians.”

The volunteer Board position is in addition to Empey’s continued duties at Lakeridge Health. “It will be a great opportunity to share some of the innovations happening here at Lakeridge Health and to see more closely what some other hospitals are doing and bring that learning back for our community,” Empey says.
