Special Recruitment Notice:
1. Accepting: Retail Volunteer Inquiries
If you are interested in a Retail volunteer role (i.e. supporting the Auxiliaries/Association in their Gift Shops, Cafes or second-hand clothing stores), please email volunteer@lh.ca at any time.
2. On Hold as of March 3, 2025: Adult and Post-Secondary Student Volunteer Inquiries for Patient, Resident or Client Facing Roles
(Please note: This does NOT apply to Retail volunteer recruitment, which remains open.)
Recruitment for all adult and post-secondary student volunteers in a patient, resident, or client facing role, will be on hold as of March 3, 2025. Recruitment for adults and post-secondary students in these roles will reopen on May 1, 2025.
3. 2025 High School Summer Volunteer Program: Recruitment Opens on March 10, 2025!
- All high school students must be at least 15 years old at the time of their inquiry.
- Program sites include Ajax Pickering, Bowmanville, Oshawa and Whitby Hospitals, and Lakeridge Gardens Long-Term Care Home.
- If you are interested in applying:
- Step 1: Send an email to Volunteer Resources at volunteer@lh.ca.
- Step 2: Receive an email response within 5 business days.
- Step 3: Complete a pre-screening form.
- Step 4: Complete an online application form.
- Step 5: Attend a virtual interview.
- Step 6: Complete New Volunteer Onboarding Requirements:
- Proof of at least two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine
- Healthcare Practitioner sign-off on an immunization form.
- Complete a 2-Step TB test.
- Sign required Lakeridge Health documentation.
- Watch e-learning modules.
- Attend an in-person Orientation with Volunteer Resources.
