1. 2025 High School Summer Volunteer Program: Recruitment Now Closed

Thank you for your interest in applying to the 2025 High School Summer Volunteer Program. We had an incredible response from our high school student community and are grateful to all who applied. Due to our program’s timeline (i.e. new volunteer onboarding, orientation, and training), our application period has now closed.

Please check back for future updates, and we hope you are able to find summer opportunities elsewhere that align with your goals and interests. 

2. Accepting Applications: Retail Volunteer Inquiries

If you are interested in a Retail volunteer role (i.e. supporting the Auxiliaries/Association in their Gift Shops, Cafes or second-hand clothing stores), please email volunteer@lh.ca at any time.

3. Accepting Applications: Distress Centre Durham Volunteer Inquiries

If you are interested in volunteering at Distress Centre Durham, please email volunteer@lh.ca at any time.

4. On Hold as of March 3, 2025: Adult and Post-Secondary Student Volunteer Inquiries for Patient, Resident or Client Facing Roles

(Please note: This does NOT apply to Retail volunteer recruitment, which remains open.)

Recruitment for all adult and post-secondary student volunteers in a patient, resident, or client facing role, will be on hold as of March 3, 2025. Recruitment for adults and post-secondary students in these roles will reopen on May 1, 2025.
