Screening

Ontario Health-Cancer Care Ontario provides three population based cancer screening programs:

• Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP)
• ColonCancerCheck (CCC) for colorectal cancer
• Ontario Cervical Screening Program (OCSP) 
• Ontario Lung Screening Program (OLSP)

Important quality benefits of cancer screening programs are:

• Invitations to individuals to participate in screening at age of eligibility
• Reminders for individuals to be screened when they are due for their next screening test
• Tracking participants throughout screening and diagnostic processes
• Generate result letters to patients and health care providers
• Programs are continually evaluated for program quality and performance
