Otolaryngologist - Ajax Pickering

With 5 hospitals, 4 emergency departments, 3 critical care units, a long-term care home, a full range of medical and surgical specialties, more than 20 community health-care locations and a state-of-the-art surgical centre within the Jerry Coughlan Health & Wellness Centre, Lakeridge Health offers some of the broadest and most comprehensive acute care, ambulatory care, and long-term care services in Ontario.

Lakeridge Health surgical team includes specialists in General Surgery, Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Ophthalmology, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and Urology. We also have access to Vascular Surgery services from Peterborough Health Sciences Centre. Both Oshawa and Ajax-Pickering hospitals are supported by comprehensive Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Radiology/Interventional Radiology teams.

Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery:

Ajax-Pickering Hospital

The Division of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) is seeking a dedicated surgeon to join our team at Ajax-Pickering Hospital.

The successful candidate will become part of a call pool comprising 6.5 full-time equivalent (FTE) members, providing coverage across Lakeridge Health’s network, which includes 4 acute care sites, 1 chronic care site, and 1 ambulatory care site. Emergency Department (ED) coverage is provided at both Oshawa and Ajax-Pickering hospitals, with patients from other sites directed to these locations for ED services.

The new surgeon will join the existing team of 2.5 FTE OHNS surgeons at the Ajax site (6.5 FTE surgeons across the corporation). Operating room time will be allocated equitably at both Ajax-Pickering Hospital and the Jerry Coughlan Health and Wellness Centre’s ambulatory surgical centre. The role includes providing comprehensive general OHNS services.

Qualifications:

  • FRCSC certification.
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice in Ontario.
  • Completion of a recognized Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency program.
