We are currently inviting applications for a permanent full-time Cytopathologist to join our Laboratory Medicine Program. The position start date is negotiable. This vacancy will appeal to a strong team player who is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Anatomical or General Pathology or its equivalent and who is eligible or licenced to practice medicine in Ontario. The AFC (area of focused competence) Diploma in cytopathology or a cytopathology fellowship is preferred. The candidate must have strong diagnostic skills and a dynamic collaborative mindset. Currently, the position is based at our Oshawa and/or Ajax-Pickering hospitals.
The Department of Laboratory Medicine at Lakeridge Health is a collegial, inter-professional team comprised of pathologists, pathology assistants, technologists and other allied health care professionals. Through our partner Hospitals and affiliation with the Cancer program, we handle primary diagnosis of benign and complex malignant cases, with more than 37,000 surgical pathology cases per year. We pride ourselves on delivery of accurate and timely pathology results. Opportunities for collaboration in educational and research activities are available through the Lakeridge Health partnership with Queen’s University.
