Cardiologist - Lakeridge Health Oshawa

Located just 30 minutes east of Toronto, in Beautiful Durham Region, Lakeridge Health Oshawa (LHO) is looking for a Cardiologist to participate in the Cardiology service model, with a focus on the provision of services to the following areas; acute cardiac unit, acute inpatient cardiology ward, consult service, cardiac diagnostics/imaging (transthoracic echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms if applicable, nuclear medicine if applicable), heart function clinic, and pacemaker clinic. We have a strong and unique multi pronged heart failure approach with a nurse practitioner based heart function stewardship program for inpatients, a nurse practitioner run heart function clinic and a nurse practitioner run virtual heart function clinic with remote biometric monitoring.

We currently have a position available for one full-time cardiologist to join a team of nine cardiologists with well-established practices. Hospital-based inpatient care is shared among the group with home-based call.  Participation in the General Medicine call schedule is not required.  Our ideal candidate would have expertise in heart failure and/or cardiac imaging. Level III echocardiography certification is an asset.

Applicants must be licensed or eligible for a license to practice in Ontario with accreditation in Cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent.  A strong interest in teaching would be an asset as Lakeridge Health is associated with Queen’s University and the successful candidate is encouraged to pursue an academic appointment.
