Lakeridge Health (LH) is looking for a Neurologist to participate in the development and evolution of a comprehensive Neurology service. The service will be a consultative only model, including providing consultations to the Emergency department, acute medical wards, critical care, inpatient rehabilitation and integrated stroke units. Positions are available at both Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering and Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Some in-hospital clinic time is available at both sites to build outpatient practice. No acute stroke management is required. General neurologists and those with a particular subspecialty focus are welcome to apply. With the planned expansion of services, including ambulatory/neurodiagnostics, opportunities exist for a very fulfilling practice, including research and teaching opportunities.
You will have teaching opportunities through the Lakeridge Health partnership with Queen’s University. Lakeridge Health offers many administrative options for those interested in pursuing physician leadership positions.
The candidate must hold FRCPC certification in Neurology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have an independent practice licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. EEG certification would be an asset. The position start date is negotiable.
